Title: “I’m the 82nd Airborne Division!”
Sub-title: A History of the All American Division in World War II After Action Reports
    By (author): Robert P. Anzuoni
    ISBN10-13: 0764323474 : 9780764323478
"I'm the 82nd Airborne Division!" is the most comprehensive collection of combat narratives, after action reports, documents, maps, and photographs detailing the saga of one of the most famous units in the Second World War. These original documents are now published for the first time since they were created sixty years ago. The Division comes alive, as individuals and units of the 82nd tell their own stories. Maps illustrate day-by-day movements of the various regiments during campaigns. Appendices list commander, casualties, and captured equipment. Special photographic essays show helmet markings and ephemera. From designation as the U.S. Army's first airborne division in 1942 through the campaigns in Sicily, Italy, Anzio, Normandy, Holland, Belgium, and Germany all the way to the occupation of Berlin and the victory parade in New York, this is the story of the 82nd Airborne Division The All American in World War II. A great reference for anyone interested in the 82nd Airborne Division in World War II and a fitting tribute to those who served in its ranks.

    Title: A Bit of Brundage
Sub-title: The Illustration Art of Frances Brundage
    By (author): Sarah Steier
    ISBN10-13: 0764307169 : 9780764307164
Sarah Steier and Donna Braun have pooled their extensive collections to write A Bit of Brundage, a book about the prolific and very collectible American illustrator Frances Brundage. This volume contains over 500 color illustrations, taken from calendars, books, postcards, paper and cloth dolls, prints, advertisements, and other items--all decorated by the artist during the period from the late 1800s to the mid-1930s. Brundage was atypical of her time, as a woman who successfully supported herself by her art from an early age. She became a well-known and sought-after illustrator, with a working career that spanned generations. Today, those who love her drawings of children and beautiful ladies also will be intrigued by her humor. Students of illustration will find A Bit of Brundage a revelation, and the rest of us will quite simply enjoy it.

Title: A Century of American Sculpture
Sub-title: The Roman Bronze Works Foundry
    By (author): Lucy D. Rosenfeld
    ISBN10-13: 0764315196 : 9780764315190
For over a century the majority of America's major sculptors chose one particular foundry to cast their works in bronze. That foundry was the Roman Bronze Works and its castings (and often the initials R.B.W.) represent a vast and fascinating collection of sculptures, ranging from the monuments of French and Saint-Gaudens to the cowboys of Remington and Russell, from the grand and graceful figures of Paul Manship and the charming salon pieces of Bessie Potter Vonnoh, to the brilliant abstractions of Archipenko and Calder. To study the ledgers and archival photographs of Roman Bronze Works is to see the unfolding of American sculpture through the 20th century, for here are examples from the many schools and "isms" that locked the nation's art world in titanic battles between realism and modernism and the many significant styles in between. Over 700 photographic examples (many in color) and biographical information about over 120 sculptors make up this book, the first to examine R.B.W.'s role in American art.

Title: A Century of Artist Letters
Sub-title: Notes to Family, Friends, & Dealers: Delacroix to Leger
    By (author): Jacqueline Albert Simon
    ISBN10-13: 0764319345 : 9780764319341
This personal and engaging book reproduces over 100 letters from the most famous 19th and 20th century painters in Paris between 1855 and 1968. Among the artists are Claude Monet, August Renoir, Edouard Manet, Pablo Picasso, and Mary Cassatt. With each letter is an exact transcription (all but two of the letters were originally written in French) and then an English translation. The text of the book explores each writers' relationships with the recipients and with other artists they mention, and a precise examination of each artists's place in the history of art. The artists write of their anxieties about work, health, finances, and their future plans. For example, Pierre Bonnard, at eighteen, writes a long letter to his father explaining why he has transferred from art school to law school. An anguished Emile Bernard describes to art critic Albert Aurier, as Paul Gauguin recounted it to him, the night Vincent vanGogh cut off his own ear. Also featured are a work of art by each artist and their portrait, self-portrait, or photograph. Additionally, each letter has been briefly analyzed by a graphologist (handwriting expert), providing another insight to the human side of great talent. The letters have been selected from the collection of Pierre F. Simon, which is now in the archives of the New York Public Library.

Title: A Century of Carnival Glass
    By (author): Glen Thistlewood
    ISBN10-13: 076431209X : 9780764312090
The creation of classic American Carnival Glass took the world by storm in the early 1900s, bringing color and beauty in the form of iridized glass to homes everywhere. Carnival's iridescent, rainbow colored appearance was achieved by spraying the still hot glass with a liquid solution of various metallic salts. A short while later, Europe, South America, and India (among others) began making Carnival--and the success story was repeated. Featuring over 400 outstanding color photographs and 130 black and white illustrations, this thoroughly researched and visually exciting book covers more than one hundred years in the history of Carnival Glass--from classic American Carnival right up to the present day. A multitude of previously "unknown" patterns are assigned to their manufacturers. Many surprises are in store, as "new" producers of European Carnival are fully documented and illustrated: Sowerby, Brockwitz, Eda, Rindskopf, and Jain, to name just a few. Detailed information on over 500 Carnival patterns--plus shapes, colors, and values--is all included, along with a bibliography, three appendices, and an index.
