What sets Billy apart as a leader is his profound, established background within the UK book trade. He brings a rare "360-degree perspective" that spans every layer of the business. Before joining Gazelle, Billy spent years on the retail frontline, managing Carnforth Bookshop - one of the North West's premier independent bookshops. His exceptional tenure in book retail earned him major industry acclaim when he was shortlisted for the prestigious British Bookseller of the Year award for three consecutive years.

An Accomplished Local History Author

Billy’s expertise is not confined to the commercial side of the trade; he is also a dedicated creator. He is an accomplished, widely published author with 8 books in total to his name, primarily focusing on vibrant local history titles published through Amberley Publishing.

Commitment to Leadership Excellence

Never one to stand still, Billy continuously invests in personal growth and professional mastery to better serve our business and partners. He is currently completing an advanced executive apprentiship to become a CMI (Chartered Management Institute) Chartered Fellow . Achieving Fellowship status represents the highest accolade in management, proving a deep commitment to ethical leadership, strategic innovation, and continuous commercial evolution.
