Karel Hruza is one of the few historians who switch easily between medieval studies and the history of the 20th century and who do not allow themselves to be shackled by any state border. His approach of an unconditional dialogue on a Central European level inspired a number of colleagues and friends to dedicate an anthology to him for his 60th birthday with scientific contributions influenced by his work.
