She was the subject of the 2015 film Sally Pacholok, starring Annet Mahendru as Pacholok, which dramatized the true story of her struggle to improve care for B12 deficiency patients. An emergency room nurse with nearly 30 years of experience, Pacholok received her bachelor's degree in nursing from Wayne State University in Detroit, Mich. She was also an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (A-EMT), and worked as a paramedic prior to and during nursing school.
