Democracy in Austria is under observation. Daily political events often distract from deeper structures. The articles in the volume from a wide range of disciplines therefore dare to take an analytical look at various narratives of democracy in Austria. It is a diverse prism of different perspectives on the developments and discussions since 1945. In addition to the legal and contemporary historical considerations, there are also assessments from political and communication sciences. Historical and political learning in and about democracy is also illuminated through contributions from political and history didactics. Criticism and praise of democracy are nevertheless close to each other in the contributions.
