The Germanist, linguist, Protestant theologian, polyhistor and minority politician Adolf Schullerus established a versatile network during his lifetime. In his functions as a pedagogue, episcopal vicar in Sibiu, main editor of the Transylvanian-Saxon dictionary, chairman of the German-Saxon People's Council and senator of the Romanian parliament, he has become a key intellectual authority for the Transylvanian Saxons.
