The decisive importance of Richard Wagner for composing and the worldview of Arnold Schönberg has often been asserted, but never scientifically substantiated. In the present work, Grun traces the traces of Wagner's influence in Schönberg's works and writings and also draws attention to them Changes in the relationship against the changing historical background.
