On Richmond's Wheel is a book celebrating the long tradition, the sport and lifestyle of cycling and the rebirth of Virginia's capital city as a cycling town. As the host city for the 2015 UCI World Championships, Richmond becomes a hotspot on the world map of international cycling and the bicycle will continue to emerge -- from the casual cyclist to the sport's elite -- as an integral part of our River City culture.
Tom Houff is the author of On Richmond's Wheel, originally released in 2012. He is a lifelong cyclist, who began bike racing in 1982. He serves as a USA Cycling Official. He is a member of the Altius Cycling Team and serves as a liaison to the Friends of Bryan Park. Houff is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a degree in Mass Communications, with an emphasis on News Editing. He is a former Board member of Richmond northside's Rosedale Civic Association.
