Canon Brendan O' Farrell of Holy Saints Catholic Church, Salford, is nearing retirement when a series of gruesome murders takes place among his congregation. In this, the second of David Menon's DCI Sara Hoyland mysteries, the trail of clues raises questions that may be a little too close to home for comfort for the investigating officers.
David Menon works as an events organiser and his political views have influenced his writing. Born and brought up in Derbyshire mainly in the north-west for the last few years, David's life has been unorthodox: he never met his father and was estranged by his mother at the age of seven to be brought up by his maternal grandmother. David now splits his time between France and Manchester. In the past he has stood (unsuccessfully) as a Labour candidate for parliament and lists his claims to fame thus, "I once made a cheese sandwich for the actress Julia Roberts, and I told the actor Matt Damon that he was brilliant in a particular film to which he replied that it was actually Leonardo Di Caprio who was in it and not him!"
